The Building Process

This is exciting! You've decided to purchase and build a new home with WestView. Although the big decision has been made, you'll be choosing and deciding on many other items that will complete your home.

We are committed to making the stages of building easy to understand. When you visit with one of our Community Managers, they will provide you with an Easy Track* check list. Easy Track*is a simple action list that outlines responsibilities of both WestView and you, our customer.

 

EASY TRACK* STAGE 1: ‘CHECKING IN’

Checking in with a WestView Community Manager gets you started. At this point, your decision-making process will include:

  • Getting pre-approval for a mortgage
  • Choosing a WestView home plan and community
  • Placing your home site on hold
  • Selecting your options and upgrades

 

EASY TRACK* STAGE 2: ‘SIGNING ON’

This stage is focused on finalizing your new home purchase. Your reward is having fun selecting interior and exterior colors and finalizing upgrades. Details include:

  • Writing the 'Offer to Purchase Agreement'
  • Meeting with your Community Manager to review and sign off your final specifications and blueprints
  • Submit the drawings and color selections for architectural approval and gradeslip

EASY TRACK* STAGE 3: ‘BUILDING UP’

'Building Up' means we're breaking ground and beginning the construction process on your new home. Our focus is on:

  • beginning construction 3-5 weeks after completion of Stage 2.
  • framing and rough-ins commence
  • having you meet with our Community Manager after framing
  • drywall & finishing
  • pre-occupancy inspection before possession of your new home

 

EASY TRACK* STAGE 4: ‘MOVING IN’

The WestView Executive Warranty ensures that moving in to your new home is exciting and memorable. Over the next few months we will:

  • set up warranty service calls for 1 and 11 months after moving in to your home
  • make sure you understand your homeowners manual and answer any additional questions you may have
